Description James Dow 2009-12-31 20:18:02 UTC
Version: 1.12.4 (using KDE 4.3.4)
OS: Linux
Installed from: openSUSE RPMs

Whenever kmail is started, the composer spell checker starts out in German and has to be reset to my language, English_American. I have looked at kmailrc in HOME/.kde4/share/config. It changes the spelling language accordingly as sonnet is configured; however this setting seems to make no difference to the composer when it is started. It always starts spell checking in German. Once it is reset it stays reset until kmail quits.

This is a minor but very annoying bug.

That's because each of your identities can have its own dictionary.

try configuring the dictionary in the Advanced tab when modifying an identity.

Yes. Allen hint solved the problem. Dictionary in Identity had to be set to
English. The original setting was German. Close bug.
