Description Marc Schoechlin 2009-12-25 19:35:36 UTC
Version: 0.5 (using 4.3.85 (KDE 4.3.85 (KDE 4.4 Beta2)), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.31-16-generic

Thanks for adding xrandr multihead support, i really welcome this.

If you use your linux system on different places at work, at home ad in the subway, you use different settings for resolution, dualhead setup, ...

It would be cool to have the possibility to define different xrandr profiles in krandrtray and switch between these settings in a handy way.

This problem still remains in KDE 4.6. This issue should be converted to a bug - because this is one of the reasons why i chnaged my desktop environment to gnome/ubuntu :-)

Gnome handles changing monitor setups in a much smarter way than kde.

I agree with Marc, and think this issue should be divided into two problems:

(a) Bug: The monitor setup is not saved. I would rate this as a bug, as it can be changed in the control center of KDE, and the users expect changes made there to persist after a reboot.

(b) Feature request: Allow defining different profiles (e.g. "office", "presentation", and "mobile").
Comment 3 pdf 2012-07-19 09:33:29 UTC
(a) is not mentioned in this report, and (b) is really a dupe of #176370, so this should probably be closed.

Closing based on comment #3, thank you for your feedback.
