Version: (using KDE 4.3.3) Installed from: I Don't Know One runner that I would like to see very much is a dictionary runner that will return the definition of whatever word you type. It would need to have some trigger, like "dict " or "define ". Even "=" might work, if the calculator runner is modified to ignore all-text entries. The definition would then appear in the results below, either as the user types or after the user presses "enter" (depending on how quickly the definition can be retrieved and displayed). It seems to me that looking up the definition of a word is the sort of quick, one-step, randomly-needed action that krunner is perfect for. There is already a dictionary plasma widget, so it should be possible. It looks to me like runners can define the size of the results they return, and there is a lot of space in the results area for a definition (far more than the dictionary widget provides by default). Krunner also already supports scrolling if the results are too long. This feature request was originally submitted through KDE Brainstorm, and has been submitted to Bugzilla due to popular demand. I would also like to see this. I created a bug requesting user-defined trigger-words for each runner: bug #313301.
This has been implemented for ages, but only started working recently.
