A lot of similar crashes are reported at bug 200847.
- Does Plasma crash again if you repeat the steps you mentioned ? How did you "installed a new image"? (loading from the file disk or by other methods like GetHotNewStuff) ?
- Do you have a System Monitor widget in your desktop ?
Thanks

- Does Plasma crash again if you repeat the steps you mentioned ?
No (on activity_2 without a system monitor)
No (on activity_1 with: "afficheur de charge système" , "surveillance du système - processeur","surveillance du système - température")

Well this bug seems random or related to a thing I've done before and I do not renumber.

- How did you "installed a new image"? (loading from the file disk or by other methods like GetHotNewStuff) ?
GetHotNewStuff (i.e. "obtention de nouveaux fonds d'écran...")

- Do you have a System Monitor widget in your desktop ?
Yes:
- afficheur de charge système (system watch)
- surveillance du système - processeur (CPU watch)
- surveillance du système - température (CPU temperature watch)

I do not know the English names of this widgets, so I may have done a bad translation
