Description Justin Newman 2009-11-11 20:08:36 UTC
Version: 2.2.1-GIT (using KDE 4.3.2)
Compiler: gcc (GCC) 4.4.2 20091027 (Red Hat 4.4.2-7)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

I believe that most people's music videos are not properly tagged, and some people may even be playing non-music videos in Amarok. As such, last.fm scrobbling should be either disabled or optional for videos. With it enabled I end up with entries like the following in ym last.fm profile:

A Fine Frenzy – A Fine Frenzy - Electric Twist (live 2009).mp4

What's worse is that tagging doesn't work or isn't supported for many video formats, such as mpg or avi. (See bug #210334)

Actually, it seems that Amarok may not scrobble videos with zero tags and that the 'A Fine Frenzy' video above may have had the artist tag filled, then autoamtically used the filename as the title. If this is true, this is much better behavior than I thought.

It may still that should be addressed further, however. maybe onyl scrobble if artist *and* track title tags are present?
