Description Danilo Luvizotto 2009-10-30 21:08:03 UTC
Version: 2.2.0 (using 4.3.2 (KDE 4.3.2) "release 2", KDE:43 / openSUSE_11.1)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.27.29-0.1-default

I can't listen to any online stream in Amarok 2.2: tried magnatune, the podcast directory, http://www.emm.usp.br/radiouspw.asx and http://www.emm.usp.br/radiouspw.ram, none of them worked.

Alright, but this is very likely not an Amarok bug per se. Please use our forum for support questions:

It seems this was also reported in Launchpad: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/amarok/+bug/465149

Playing from the last.fm client works just fine.

apparently lastfm requires paid accounts to allow streaming to 3rd party apps

 http://www.last.fm/api/radio

"Radio API
Who can I stream radio to?

Any API account can only stream radio to Last.fm's paid subscribers.

Note: Due to licensing restrictions, you may not use the radio API on mobile telephones."

I think, the message

#: services/lastfm/meta/LastFmMultiPlayableCapability.cpp:98
msgid ""
"To listen to this stream you need to be a paying Last.fm subscriber. All the "
"other Last.fm features are unaffected."

is not optimal. Last.fm says

"Any API account can only stream radio to Last.fm's paid subscribers."
(source: http://www.lastfm.de/api/radio)

That means, that at least the second sentence is "All the other Last.fm features are unaffected." is misleading.

Please change or remove this sentence.

Could you please open a separate bug for that? This one was about a lastfm API version way older than the current one

Ok, I opened the new Bug 315771.
