Version: 1.10.3 (using 4.1.3 (KDE 4.1.3) "release 4.10.4", openSUSE 11.1) Compiler: gcc OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.27.29-0.1-default Sometimes kmail (kontact) does not show the message contents when clicking on it. It just shows a blank page. The message does not get marked as read either. Starting from command line shows the following error message (repeated seven times! and only when a not showable message is clicked on) FolderStorage::getMsg: msg serial number == 0
Can you check if recreating the folder index solves your problem, please ? (right click on folder -> Properties -> Maintenance)
Yes it does. But No you can not always use it... I had this problem in several folders, those where "Recreate Index..." is available gets fixed. But some folders does not have that option: drafts, inbox, sent... (the standard ones) The messages can not be moved either...
Try closing kmail, removing /tmp/kde-username/kmail* (rm -r /tmp/kde-username/kmail*) and starting kmail again. It is happening on kde 3.5, too... Usually, when kmail crashes.
You are reporting against an aged version of KDE. What is the situation in a more recent release?
I am experiencing the same problem in FC13, KMail Version 1.13.6, KDE 4.5.5. There is a bug report for that, too: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=259421 There are no files in /tmp/kde-<myusername> at the moment. I also deleted everything from the ~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/imap/, with no improvement
System: Debian 6.0.4 (Wheezy) 64 bit Hardware: ASUS Laptop Package: kmail 1.13.7 (KDE 4.74) BUG: IMAP messages that include HTML & Attachments have EMPTY BODIES PROBLEM: Kmail does not show the body of any IMAP message if both an attachement & html have been included in the email messages. The same message layout & attachment work perfectly from a POP account (i.e. Shaw Internet). Makes no difference what kind of file is attached. IMAP messages and attachment displays fine if the message does NOT include any HTML. If there is HTML & attached file = EMPTY BODY If there is plain-text & attached file = EVERYTHING SHOWS If there is HTML & NO attachments = EVERYTHING SHOWS Things that made NO difference: 1) rebuilding indexes 2) complete uninstall of bogofilters and filter deletions 3) setting prefer html & load externel references to show on folders The following are "shortened" sample message structure if they are of any use to any one. Note that "#" characters I added to hide information, they were not included in these examples: ======================== --- SHAW-POP ---- Return-Path: #####@ymail.com Received: from cds004.dcs.int.inet...
