Description Freddie Witherden 2009-10-07 18:12:02 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.3.1)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

Upon suspending a system (I've tried a Debian laptop and a Gentoo desktop system) Kmail does not take the opportunity to close up any outstanding connections.

When the system is later resumed Kmail becomes dead in the water -- no network operations like checking/fetching mail work. It takes around 5 minutes for Kmail to realize the connection has timed out.

Exiting and opening Kmail up again fixes the problem.

Kmail should either respond appropriately to suspend/resume events or be more aggressive when it comes to reinstating lost network connections.
