Description Panagiotis Papadopoulos 2009-07-29 17:31:51 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.98)
Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package

Sometimes when you click on a link, and rekonq loads that link, rekonq becomes "unresponsive" or "freezes" for 2-3 seconds until that webpage got loaded.
Comment 1 Panagiotis Papadopoulos 2009-07-30 14:37:24 UTC
I discovered, that this only occurs, if you enter an website address without prepending a www. or a http:// to it

Example
vfb.de

Perhaps something proxy related, then..
Comment 3 Panagiotis Papadopoulos 2009-07-31 15:52:03 UTC
I do not use any proxies.
My "discovery" about sites that have no prepended http:// or www. seems to be wrong...
This also happens with "regular" URLs

Sorry, it's my fault. When I wrote "proxy" I was thinking about DNS.. ;)
Comment 5 Panagiotis Papadopoulos 2009-07-31 16:25:06 UTC
hmm...
Since I don't have this issue with other Webbrowsers, there must be something wrong in rekonq itself...
Comment 6 Panagiotis Papadopoulos 2009-08-26 16:10:10 UTC
No since there were some fixes in rekonq and the kio_http stuff, this "freeze" only happens, when https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=205163 is triggered
Comment 7 Greg Bouzakis 2009-10-30 10:43:25 UTC
This happens to me only when right clicking and opening a URL in a new tab, but not always.
It has always happened (since 0.1) and still does with 0.2.90. This is with KDE 4.3.2 by the way.

ok tested the latest rekonq code and it seems like this has been really fixed! Awesome :-)
Grigorios, could you give this a try too?

If you also can confirm it, we can safely close this :-)
Comment 12 Greg Bouzakis 2010-01-27 00:44:34 UTC
I cant test this at the moment because git has been needing QT >= 4.6 for a while and i have 4.5.3 installed. But FWIW i asked another person using a more recent QT and told me he hasnt had any issues like that.
You guys should know better anyway. Feel free to close this. Thanks!
