Version: (using KDE 4.2.96) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages Okular could provide the usual PDF drag to scroll even when the text selection mode is activated, by offering a keyboard/mouse combination for that. My suggestion is Ctrl+Alt+LMB, as this does not interact with any of the existing shortcuts (either from Okular of Kwin), and it is also the combination that Opera got users used to. It would be nice to have this KDE wide, but I guess much harder that for Okular, which already contains drag to scroll functionality.
Moving this to Okular for now
Please describe what you want more clearly, because by reading "PDF drag to scroll even when the text selection mode is activated" i don't understand what you want. Describe it step by step, what would you do as a user and what/how you think Okular should react.
It is a feature idea to have drag scrolling („Browse tool”) available also in the „Text selection” mode of Okular. When you activate „Text selection”, the drag scrolling feature is not available because the left mouse button (LMB) will select text instead of dragging. Thus I'm thinking of a mouse+keyboard combination: whenever you press a certain key combination (say Ctrl+Alt) and LMB, you drag the document instead of selecting text. Steps: 1. Open document in Okular and press button „Browse tool” (Ctrl+1) 2. Press left mouse button over the document and move the mouse -> the document is dragged. 3. Press button „Text selection” (Ctrl+4) 4. Press left mouse button over document and move the mouse -> text is selected in the document. 5. (the proposed feature) Press Ctrl+Alt, press left mouse button over document and move the mouse -> the document is dragged like in step 2. However, because now touchscreens are so common, I guess this kind of thing should be available as a global feature. Please ask if there's something I did not explain well.
Moving from NEEDSINFO back to unconfirmed.
