Description anton 2009-06-18 22:05:14 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.90)
OS: Linux
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

Sometimes bottom panel (status panel) of konqueror draws garbage from other parts of desktop (see attached screenshot). This happens at unpredictable moment - after reloading page, after switching tab or another desktop etc, at another moment the same action will not cause this.

I rememeber this bug appeared in much earlier versions of kde (probably 4.1.1, or maybe even 4.0).

Is Konqueror being restored on KDE startup ? This remembers me bug 158900
Thanks
Comment 3 anton 2009-06-24 21:12:39 UTC
Yes, I always start session with a number of saved konqueror windows. But as far as I remember, this may happen not only just after login when konqueror was restored, but also after some time. And I also think that not all restored konqueror windows are affected.

It happens here too (4.3.3) when I open a saved session and when I restore the previous session after a crash. On the other hand, it does not happen in Xephyr.

trash in status bar, with search bar enabled

I can confirm this with KDE 4.3.4 on Debian Squeeze/Sid/Experimental and:

martin@shambhala:~> apt-show-versions | egrep "(xserver-xorg/|xserver-xorg-core/|xserver-xorg-video-radeon/|kde-window|libkwin|konqueror|libqt4-core)"
kde-window-manager/sid uptodate 4:4.3.4-1
konqueror/sid uptodate 4:4.3.4-1
konqueror-nsplugins/sid uptodate 4:4.3.4-1
libkwineffects1/sid uptodate 4:4.3.4-1
libqt4-core/experimental uptodate 4:4.6.0-1
xserver-xorg/squeeze uptodate 1:7.4+4
xserver-xorg-core/squeeze uptodate 2:1.6.5-1
xserver-xorg-video-radeon/squeeze uptodate 1:6.12.3-1
martin@shambhala:~> lspci -nn | grep VGA
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: ATI Technologies Inc RV350 [Mobility Radeon 9600 M10] [1002:4e50]

(OpenGL-Compositing is enabled)

It looks like the status bar background is not drawn and the region for webpage rendering overlaps the region for status bar rendering.

Comment 7 Grósz Dániel 2009-12-11 22:06:18 UTC
It does not depend on compositing.

I don't think so either. Thus I just mentioned it in braces ;)

Is this still an issue in KDE 4.7 or higher ?
Comment 10 Dawit Alemayehu 2012-10-16 06:06:09 UTC
No response to query. See comment #9. If this issue is still valid in KDE 4.9 or higher, feel free to reopen this ticket.
