Description David Rankin 2009-06-15 17:37:50 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.90)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

Latest update of kde4.3 (Version 4.2.90 (KDE 4.2.90 (KDE 4.3 Beta2)) "release 139") has a broken menu editor "save". You can open Menu Editor and edit a menu entry as usual, but when you click "save", it goes into an endless loop with the "Updating Configuration" dialog going from 0% -> 100% over-and-over again. The configuration is saved, but the save %completed dialog never exits.

This worked fine in 4.2.88, but is broken in this release.
Comment 1 G Cohen 2009-06-26 09:58:50 UTC
In Kubuntu the save button is also broken, although not exactly in the same way.
Clicking save brings up the Updating Configuration dialogue which doesn't do anything (no progress bar) and closes after a second. Any changes that are made are not saved: the menu doesn't change and if you close the menu editor and open again it shows the state before the changes were made.
Comment 2 Mark Daglish 2009-06-29 13:07:25 UTC
I have exactly the same problem as David above. Trying to save menu changes loops 0% -> 95% endlessly and doesn't save.

Comment 3 David Rankin 2009-07-01 19:03:34 UTC
I am not sure what the heck is going on here now, but I have tried the save feature again, and it worked this time with the same: Version 4.2.90 (KDE 4.2.90 (KDE 4.3 Beta2)) "release 139". (I'm not sure how this bodes for comfort in consistency..) No doubt something changed, but what?? Here are the current kde4 apps:
