Version: (using KDE 4.2.90) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages I noticed some very strange behavior in kmenuedit. I always customize my own kmenu completely, doing things like moving utilities into system, and condensing quite a bit. I had the menu just the way I liked it but I noticed a few strange things that happened. 1.) Under Internet, half of my icons were not in the menu. Under kmenuedit they were there, but even though they didn't show up in the real menu, they were all present in kmenuedit. In order to fix this I had to delete all of the icons in kmenuedit that were not showing up in the menu and recreate them. The icons in question were Kopete, Quassel, Pidgin, and a few others. 2.) Those same icons, when I recreated them, copied themselves to the "lost and found" section of the menu. 3.) If I deleted the duplicates in lost and found, it would delete them under Internet as well. 4.) The only solution to this problem was to delete the lost and found section of the menu completely. This stopped the infinite loop of recreating the icons, deleting them from lost and found, and realizing they were also deleted under Internet. 5.) Finally, another oddity is that "Utilities" shows up as a section under kmenuedit. I have deleted everything under utilities to make it completely empty so it should not be showing up. I ended up just deleting the entire utilities section to solve this. Please note I have resolved all of those issues via workarounds as mentioned. There were no crashes, just kmenu weirdness that I cannot explain. I tested it on a different machine and it had the same issue.
