Version: (using KDE 4.2.85) Installed from: SuSE RPMs I have a nice idea: Use the Plasma-Thema also for applications. With this, we could give all KDE applications the same look as Plasma. For example we could use the widget-backrground as backgroudn for the applications.
Created attachment 34141 [details] Small demo app I have made al small demo application (Actually this app is a demo for my Tapdock concept. I just added a small hack for the background). The Image for the background is from Amarok 2.0 and the icons are from Oxygen. At the moment is just draws a hardcoded png file, because i have no idea how to handle with the current plasma theme.
Are you talking about the window decoration, or the widgets inside the windows? For window decorations, see bug 185511. For widgets, see http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php/QuantumStyle?content=101088
Created attachment 34158 [details] Screenshot of my idea I mean neither nor. I mean the default background for applications. (See attachment) It dos not has to be the background for widgets. The Plasma-Themes could be extended to have a background for applications.
This is an idea that we're exploring for Plasma 6. We would either make the widget theme consume Plasma theme SVGs (turning it into a theme engine), or else make both the widget theme and Plasma consume CSS files designed to be interoperable with GNOME's CSS-based theming. Either way, no need to keep the open, as it will either be implemented or it won't. :)
