Description Nico Schlömer 2009-05-22 18:14:49 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.3)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

Hi,

when you

1.) start Kmail
2.) open a VPN connection such that all traffic is tunneled

then Kmail will refuse to connect to any mailserver. The only thing that helps is restart Kmail.

Not sure if this is related to VPN directly; I may have seen that with switching connections in any way, e.g., changing the WLAN network or changing from WLAN to LAN and so on.

Cheers,
Nico

Hi,

I just noticed the same is true not only for VPN connections, but for network changes in general. For example, connecting to WiFi, then plugging in a LAN cable and disconnect the WiFi will also kill KMail's IMAP connection.

-- I guess it'd be a good idea to change the bug title here, but I can't seem to find the button for that. Hints?

Cheers,
Nico
