Description Craig Magina 2009-04-28 15:53:18 UTC
Version: 1.4.2 (using KDE 4.2.2)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

My system is running Kubuntu 9.04 amd64. Kontact has been running for 5 days straight, but it was having trouble sending an e-mail to my imap server, so I was restarting it to see if that would help (the Exchange server can be finicky). When I went to start it back up, it crashed and continues to do so. I am attaching a full backtrace with all debug symbols loaded.

Kontact SIGABRT from 04-28-2009
Comment 2 Craig Magina 2009-04-28 16:04:58 UTC
Due to an issue I am experiencing with X.org on my system I am unable to just logout and instead must either reboot or do a console login and start kde that way, so I rebooted for a normal login. However, even after the reboot, I am still experiencing the issue. The issue is also specifically kmail, as starting kmail alone has the same affect and I'll attach it's backtrace encase there is anything of use there. If I find what file was corrupted causing it to fail at start, I'll report that here.

KMail SIGABRT 04-28-2009
Comment 4 Craig Magina 2009-04-28 16:18:30 UTC
It didn't like something it found in the ~/.kde/share/config/kmailrc file. I'll try and attach it after I review it for information I might not be able to send.
Comment 5 Craig Magina 2009-04-28 16:36:35 UTC
The problem might have been caused by my Windows AD/Exchange password having expired and me having an e-mail in the outbox, which kmail was trying to send out every time I started it. I removed my kmailrc file and re-generated my config and now everything is working.
