Version: (using KDE 4.2.2) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages Please add an option for no year in the Birthday field. There are contacts for whom I do not know the year of their birth, and it is better not asked. However, I need to know their birthdays. Currently, the workaround is to choose an arbitrary year but that is not an ideal situation.
I recently surprised a friend of mine with a "My computer told me it's your 109. birthday, chapeau!." But nonetheless this seems to be a dupe of Bug 122133 of Bug 95522...
The development of the old KAddressBook will be discontinued for KDE 4.4. Since the new application has the same name, but a completly new code base we close all bug reports against the old version and ask the submitters to resend there reports against the new product.
I am moving this feature request Product to the new Kaddressbook. Thanks, Tobias!
In earlier versions of this Bug it was stated, that this feature could not be implemented because dates without year are not part of the vcard definition. However, the RFC6350 [1] (which is the current one to my knowledge) supports these kind of dates. In section 6.2.5 as examples for the BDAY attribute the following is given (amongst others): BDAY:19960415 BDAY:--0415 So, there is a way to specify a date without year in vcards. I hope this will help implementing this feature. Thank you for your work! [1] http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc6350.txt
