Version: (using KDE 4.2.2) OS: Linux Installed from: Mandriva RPMs When non scalable icons are set "fixed" in icon.theme and the icons are set past the largerst size of the non-scalable icons present, they are used instead of the scalable icons present in the theme and they do not resize at all past the largest size When non scalable icons are set "threshold" in icon.theme and the icons are set past the largerst size of the non-scalable icons present, they are used instead of the scalable icons present in the theme and they resize but get blurry eventhough scalable icons are present (the see that this is really a buf delete all the fixed size icons and only use the scalable icons and see the scaling does work, however many icons seem to be chosen from the parent them (when non-scalable variants are present?))

Due to limitations of QSvg (features and performance), scalable icons are not used/loaded when PNG icons are present. A future version of KDE may include a better SVG renderer (maybe WebKit based), so that scalable icons can be loaded.

I can't reproduce this. From my testing, the icons in Dolphin look to be SVG. Can someone confirm this?
Hi, the KDE libaries and applications version 4.x are obsolete and got replaced with Frameworks 5 and now 6 based variants that are still maintained. The issue in this bug doesn't seem to happen for me with these versions.
