Version: (using KDE 4.2.2) OS: Linux Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package I typically adjust the width and content of the message list so that no horizontal scroll bar is required as this maximises the height available for display of the message list. Whenever I restart kamil the size has always grown by a small amount - just enough that the horizontal scrollbar reappears. I expect this is a simple bug where some element width is not being included in a default width calculation. It is annoying and effects usability however so it would be good to fix.
I think this issue was already resolved. Which Qt version are you using ?
Unfortunately I can't check any more. I upgraded to 4.3 beta and, from memory it *didn't* seem to have the problem. Unfortunately I didn't get to run 4.3 for very long before the whole intel video driver thing bit my system big time. I can't run any desktop just now. Happy to call this resolved. Will raise again later if it shows again.
I have done some fixing to get by KDE4.3 beta system back up and running. I can confirm I still have the bug. I'm running Arch with kdemod QT info as follows:
pacman -Q | grep qt ... qtmod 4.5.1-3
Created attachment 35139 [details] message window of kmail showing horizontal scroll problem Resizing the columns until the horizontal scrollbar dissappears works until the application is restarted. So, each time the application is run the columns need to be manually resized which is dead tedious.
I am still seeing this problem with RC1 KMail Version 1.12.0 Using KDE 4.2.95 (KDE 4.2.95 (KDE 4.3 RC1)) (KDEmod) qtmod 4.5.2-3
