Version: 4.2.2 (using KDE 4.2.2) OS: Linux Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages Krdc uses up a lot of screen real estate, so I like to maximize the window once the connection has been established. I can then use the 'minimize fullscreen window' to minimize the window to the taskbar. However, after maximizing the window again, I can no longer minimize it! I need to switch to window mode again in order to be able to minimize the window. Expected behaviour: being able to minimize fullscreen windows every time the 'minimize fullscreen window' icon is clicked.
I cannot reproduce. What do you try to do to minimize it the 2nd time? How do you maximize it again (clicking the item in the taskbar?)?
This is how I use it: - setup connection (VNC or RDP) - click 'switch to fullscreen mode' (4 red arrows point outwards on white background) - do some work on the remote host - minimize by clicking 'minimize fullscreen window (red cross in lower left corner on white background) - leave the window in the taskbar - click on taskbar entry to maximize window again - do some work on remote host - try to minimize by clicking 'minimize fullscreen window (red cross in lower left: no dice - need to click 'switch to window mode' in order to bring window back into its tab. Only now can I minimize the window. With a flash I thought I'd try something, and indeed: the problem _only_ occurs with Kwin desktop effects enabled! Just happens I have them enabled all the time... ;)
I cannot reproduce it even with enabled desktop effects. Anyways, it looks like a KWin issue.
I was able to reproduce this on Gentoo with KDE 4.2.1. After playing around a bit, I found a discrepancy on what happens when windows are minimized with compositing enabled disabled. I filed Bug 189292 for KWin, which is probably what's causing this problem - KWin seems to be confused on whether KRDC is minimized or not.
Confirmed by me. Behaviour is due to Kwin bug! Thanks all!
