Version: unknown (using 4.2.1 (KDE 4.2.1) "release 106", KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop / openSUSE_11.1) Compiler: gcc OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.27.7-9-default The battery icon grows with the width (or height) of the panel. It usually takes up way to much space. It should be an _icon_, i.e., at most 48x48. Same goes for a few other widgets, too, I suppose but I can't list them all.
Created attachment 32641 [details] Screenshot I can confirm this is specially true on vertical panel where the width is usually larger. See screenshot.
(i'd personally wish to put the applet alongside with the systemtray icons)
Agreed. It's a common problem with other applets as well, for example the network manager applet, which I also liked to have in the system tray. I fired a more general bug about this: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=192250
