Version: 0.70.50 (using 4.2.65 (KDE 4.2.65 (KDE 4.3 >= 20090226)), Gentoo) Compiler: x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.28-gentoo-r2 I often lose my connection to the internet and so Jabber loses connection. So my account is marked as offline, but it does not reconnect like my ICQ account. It would be nice, if Jabber would do the same.
This happens to me too. In kopete 0.70.2. Happens with jabber (gtalk) and MSN too. ICQ seems to reconnect after the link comes up (around 2 mins in my case, after daily ISP disconnect). It would be nice to reconnect all protocols if previous state was connected. Maybe try a little longer? Thanks!
yes please here too. I'm running kopete 4.2.3 and I have to manually reconnect *all the time* when using google chat. Very frustrating!
I can confirm this bug on Debian, Kopete 0.70.0, Kde 4.2.2

0.70.4, 4.2.4 - the same problem
Should be fixed in KDE 4.3 ... anybody can confirm this?
Same for me using kopete Version 0.70.90 on KDE 4.2.90 (KDE 4.3 Beta2). For some strange reason my jabber connection often breaks without kopete indicating that there has been a disconnect. It still shows my contacts with online status but there are no more incoming messages until I manually reconnect to the jabber server. The messages that where sent to me in that strange state are lost so that people have to resent their writings. This does not seem to happen with ICQ at least in that silent way. If icq disconnects it instantly reconnects itself. Maybe its of help to note that I use ssl and otr on my conversations. Hope this will be fixed soon because it happens really often to me.
I get this in AIM as well, it seems to be a more general problem, so I'm going to dup it to the older report: your votes won't transfer. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 183307 ***
