+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #183725 +++ Version: 0.99.01 (using KDE 4.2.0) OS: Linux Installed from: Fedora RPMs The list of bug reports claims that this bug is resolved, but it is NOT. When trying to post to a newsgroup, the program and compose window suddenly vanish and nothing is posted. It is impossible to use the program, except for reading, but not for posting to, newsgroups.
rpm -q kdelibs kdepim please. One thing to consider trying as well is to remove lines containing MALLOC_CHECK in /usr/bin/startkde

I also solicited a commit # &^*^&%^%^$# patch to be submitted to #Fedora-KDE on Freenode, I can't find which one it is, however(how do I search the resolved bugs) It was the one that suggested patching kde-libs, stating the crashing was already solved and that fedora was responsible in grabbing the patch. It solved the crashing by updating the kde-libs package. In that context, now when selecting messages, the messages scrolls a couple of lines with/in trying to select the message to view. This happens anytime you use the scroll wheel on the mouse, but if one hasn't used it prior to selecting a message one is able to select the correct one, obviously resulting in one wrong message and one right message being opened for every message navigated to. Without using the scroll wheel to navigate, by using the scroll bar, it scrolls the messages, then when mouse pointer enters the field, the messages "settle" resulting in having to reselect the message visually instead of physically. Furthermore, the news reader knode forgets my password, then when I close and open it again, it remembers my password.
[victor@Earth ~]$ rpm -q kdelibs kdepim kdelibs-4.2.0-15.fc10.i386 kdepim-4.2.0-2.fc10.i386
The crash when posting an article was fixed as of kdelibs 4.2.1. (bug Vic, if you have other issues, please open different bug reports (one by issue). *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 182322 ***
