Version: 2.0 beta-7 (using 4.1.3 (KDE 4.1.3) "release 55.2", KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop / openSUSE_11.0) Compiler: gcc OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.25.20-0.1-pae To reproduce: -create a shape layer -switch to the shape layer -switch to the paint layer -and back to the shape layer Result: the tool buttons are not disabled the second time you switch to the shape layer
this is probably another effect of the same bug, let me know if is not the case and I will make a new report. 1. start a new document 2. create a path with the path tool 3. the layer box doesn't switch to the new shape layer, but paint tools do get disabled 4. create a second path, this time paint tools are enabled and creating new paths doesn't change this.
For me they are not even disabled after the first switch.

Hm, with the exception of the freehand tool, the brush tools now all create vector shapes when a vector layer is active. If we make the freehand tool(s) also create vector shapes -- wouldn't this bug be obsolete then?
Now we don't disable any buttons on switching the layer. Yes, some painting tools create shapes when a shape layer is active. Freehand, Dyna, Multibrush, Fill and Gradient Tools do nothing when a Shape Layer is selected. Actually, the initial bug is indeed obsolete, but, probably, we want to disable the listed tools when shape layer is active.

The pattern and gradient tools for shapes don't get activated now when we select a shape, making them unusable.
Behavior changed, so this is no longer valid.
