Version: SVN trunk (using Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources I just made the mistake of opening the download progress information on the status bar (by clicking on the upward arrow next to the status message which server is polled currently). Now every time kmail downloads messages the progress shows but there is no control to have these messages not to show... In KDE3 kmail there was a button with a downward arrow that allowed to revert to the previous behaviour except for closing and restarting kmail.
In kmail from trunk svn revision 896776, there is an down arrow in the same place where the upward arrow was to hide the download progresses. I have not seen any change in this part since 4.1.0
@Jaime, there wasn't such an arrow in SVN trunk as of 2008-12-14 :-(
I've now found out why I don't get the upwards arrow anymore: The small download progress alltogether doesn't show up as the operation in question on subsequent runs doesn't take long enough. But the popup progress does show up :-(

Comment on attachment 30702 [details] My (Karl Günter Wünsch) default konqueror profile Was intended to be included for tracking bug #177332, darn this jump to the next bug...
I get the same behavior with KMail Version 1.11.1/Kubuntu 8.10
Changing the bug to a wish to allow to enable/disable the progress also in the configuration, so no dependency of the slowliness of the operations to disable it.
