Description Ernest N. Wilcox Jr. 2008-12-04 21:06:02 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.1.3)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Mandriva RPMs

In early KDE releases, an ALT+Click Desktop menu allowed access to my Konqueror bookmarks. When this menu item was discontinued, I added the Desktop menu (which included the File, Edit, Bookmarks, etc. items) to easily access my bookmarks. With the introduction of KDE4 even this functionality has been discontinued.

In an ideal world, KDE4 would support the ability to directly access the bookmarks of any WEB browser I choose to define as my default WEB browser. A widget could possibly provide the required functionality to permit such access from the desktop.

Since this is not an ideal world, I understand that this may be impractical, so a widget to permit access to the Konqueror bookmarks would suffice.

Thank you for examining my request,

OK. I knew my request would get lost behind some loosely related bug report/request, although I think you should read the entire request before marking it as a dup to a context menu request since I really wanted to get a desktop / panel widget that would let me simply access my browser's bookmarks. Since KDE4 is an entirely different desktop than KDE3, I do not think going backward is appropriate. IMHO, the forward looking solution should be to develop a set of (possibly similar) widgets to implement these requests for the KDE3 context menu functionality - e.g.: Bookmark menu, K menu, etc.

I hope this clarifies what I am requesting, and if my request is still regarded as a dup of bug 163016, then so be it.

Thank you
