Version: 2.0 svn (using KDE 4.1.3) OS: Linux Installed from: SuSE RPMs I have set the dynamic playlist to only add rated songs. So in total there are 16 songs in the playlist at a given time. It happens quite frequently that I have the same song, i.e. same file, twice in the playlist, which should not happen IMO.
I think it is required only for dynamic playlists but not global playlist. I don't like application choosing for me what to listen, and i am adding 3-4 copies of my favourite songs to playlist to listen them more often in random mode.
Since the component of this bug is dynamic playlists, it should be obvious, that it only relates to those and not the normal playlists.
I have also on rating based dynamic playlists. I always get the same song in my playlist. Here is a screenshot of my amarok: http://pickhost.eu/images/0001/8731/amarok1.png As you can see it is always the same songs... If i click on the last song in the playslist and "new" items are added I also get the same songs. It is nearly the same with the repopulate button. When I click repopulate I get first time new songs but the new songs which were added are also double in my playlist. I'm using amarok 2.0.1
This seems to be a duplicate of bug 205284

I would guess that your filter is too specific. However there is currently no way to prevent duplicate tracks in the playlist. Even adding a "last played" or "playcount" bias doesn't help you. I am currently refactoring the dynamic playlist, but currently that is really a problem.
New dynamic playlist has a global switch to prevent duplicates.
