Description Dmitrij 2008-10-28 22:26:14 UTC
Version: amarok version 2.0 svn (using KDE 4.1.2)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Mandriva RPMs

amarok does not play mp3 if directory name (path) contains '[' or ']' symbols.

Example:
~music/Queen/LiveAtWembley/01-OneVision.mp3 -- play normally
~music/Queen/LiveAtWembley[1986]/01-OneVision.mp3 -- does not...

My whole 150GB collection is in the form: /Artist - [year] Album/
And it all plays fine.
Comment 2 Dmitrij 2008-10-28 22:33:08 UTC
collection is in the form: ~music/Queen - 1986 LiveAtWembley/
or ~music/Queen - [1986] LiveAtWembley/
?
Comment 3 Mikko C. 2008-10-28 22:35:12 UTC

Along with info from Bug 173852 I am using gstreamer with asscociated bad/ugly plugins from mdv 2009 as the backend

Please try switching from the GStreamer Phonon backend to the xine Phonon backend.

If you don't have it, you'll have to install the package.
Comment 10 Dmitrij 2008-10-30 19:43:32 UTC
I have switched, now amarok work normally.
Comment 11 Mark Kretschmann 2008-10-30 22:42:19 UTC
