Version: (using KDE 4.1.1) Installed from: Fedora RPMs My akregator used to work fine with 3.5.x, also some time with 4.x and now it hangs at startup when fetching feeds *if* I have this in feeds.opml: <outline htmlUrl="http://www.postimees.ee/" title="PM Maja" useCustomFetchInterval="true" maxArticleAge="60" fetchInterval="1" maxArticleNumber="1000" archiveMode="globalDefault" version="RSS" type="rss" xmlUrl="http://www.postimees.ee/rss/5" id="64438905" text="PM Maja" description="Uudised, Sport, Ilm" /> some estonian paper news feed. It has been like so for quite some time but now just recently (after summer) started hanging akregator. This is hang, not a crash. gdb doesn't really give any bt so thus i didn't comment to bug #164265.
also tried to set: fetchInterval="-1" to keep it in config but disable the fetching but didn't help.
Is this still valid with an updated KDE version? Thanks

(In reply to comment #3) > Instead of asking, why don't you just try? Thanks Because it's probably easier for you who already have this feed configured to test and because I'm just a simple bug triager not a KDE developer(nor a Akregator developer neither) But, let's try: Here using: Qt: 4.5.1 (qt-copy 958974) KDE: 4.2.87 (KDE 4.2.87 (KDE 4.3 >= 20090519)) kdelibs svn rev. 971894 / kdebase svn rev. 971894 kdepim (akregator) svn rev. 971976 on ArchLinux i686 - Kernel 2.6.29.3 After adding the mentioned entry in my feeds.opml file, I could start Akregator, fetch that feed and browse the articles without any hang. I had another entry in the feeds.opml file, I removed it to leave alone the offending onem and I could still use Akregator without any problem. I have a vainilla configuration. (no custom values, just the defaults) Do you experience the hang when fetching the feed or when viewing an article? (or when doing something else?) Have you tried with a new user account just for testing with a clear configuration? Regards
Changing the bug status until we get feedback.

Here after adding this: Window with title "Add Feed - Akregator" is not responding. This window belongs to application akregator (PID=27389, hostname=localhost). window is gray, process takes 100% cpu. > Do you experience the hang when fetching the feed or when viewing an article? > (or when doing something else?) I think it tries to fetch the feeds after adding it. But can't be sure. > Have you tried with a new user account just for testing with a clear > configuration? No, neither.
% kde-config --version Qt: 3.3.8b KDE: 3.5.10-3.fc10 Fedora kde-config: 1.0
Are you still using KDE 4.1.1 ? (you can run "akregator --version") to check for the KDE4 version of the app. Thanks
% akregator --version Qt: 4.5.1 KDE: 4.2.4 (KDE 4.2.4) Akregator: 1.4.4
Hi, I can not confirm this problem with this feed using akregator in KDE 4.9.3 Can you please test using a recent version? Often a bug gets fixed by 'accident' and in 3 years time a lot can happen. Thanks
Closing. Please reopen if you can still confirm with a recent version.
