Description simon.reinhardt 2008-09-21 13:20:51 UTC
Version: 3.5.9 (using Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources

In multi-disc releases each disc often has a title of its own (apart from the disc number). ID3v2 has the TSST frame ("Set subtitle") for that.
In MusicBrainz this is indicated with "Album title (disc N: Disc title)". At the moment I'm following this format for not losing this information but Amarok will then recognise it as separate albums.
Therefore it'd be nice if Amarok would add support for this information like it did with disc numbers.

My current collection layout

I *think* I wish the same. :)

It would be really nice if Amarok 2 would support / respect disc numbers to properly manage the layout of the Collection pane (if possible). I have quite a few albums that exists of multiple CD's. The only way I can get things to sort nicely is by mentioning the CD number in the album title which gives me two (or more) entries for each album. I attached a screenshot of my current layout for viewing pleasures.

What I actually would love is that there would be the following scheme available: Album -> CD# -> CD content. For example

+ Defqon.1 Festival 2009
|
|----+ CD 1
|---------- CD 1 Track 1
|---------- CD 1 Track 2
|---------- CD 1 Track 3
|----+ CD 2
|---------- CD 2 Track 1
|---------- CD 2 Track 2
|---------- CD 2 Track 3
|----+ CD 3
|---------- CD 3 Track 1
|---------- CD 3 Track 2
|---------- CD 3 Track 3
ETC

If this is something different than what's being mentioned in comment #1, please let me know so I can file it as a new Wish separately.

Just a comment to say that I saw some of multi CD album in wich each CD not only have a different (sub)title but also a different cover so if CD subtitle is supported, it could be nice to link album cover to artist-album_title-cd_subtitle instead of just artist-album_title.
