Description Sergio Callegari 2008-08-06 21:16:59 UTC
Version: 2.1 (using KDE 4.1.0)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

When using the less command in the konsole, scrolling up in less (with the up arrow) garbles the konsole screen.

How to reproduce on my system:
1) Log in a kde 4.1 session
2) Open console
3) type less <file> where file is a long text file
4) Scroll down with the down arrow key
5) Try to scroll up again with the up arrow key

At this point the konsole screen is garbled, with repeated lines, cut lines, etc. Page-down followed by page-up fixes the screen.

Interestingly, the same version of the konsole, launched in a kde 3.5.9 session does not show the issue.

I wonder if it can be a problem with video acceleration. I am using an NVIDIA Geoforce2 MX/MX 400 card with the 96.43.05 drivers from Nvidia.

Indeed related to effects. Disabling effects makes the Konsole behave properly.
