Version: (using KDE 3.5.9) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux The set of columns in the message list is not bound to the width of that portion of the display. If I resize my columns the way I want them and then resize the KMail window, then either I get a scrollbar because the columns are now too wide, or a set of narrow columns bunched up on the left of the display. The columns should be linked to the message list box (sorry if I don't know the right term here) so that they grow and shrink with the KMail window.
Created attachment 26341 [details] Columns filling their box This is what I normally see.
Created attachment 26342 [details] Columns overflowing their box I shrunk the KMail window and now have to scroll to see the whole message list display. The same think happens if I right-click the list of columns and add another one to display; instead of scaling all the columns down, it tacks the new one onto the end.
Created attachment 26343 [details] I've maximized my KMail window and now the columns look all scrunched up This is also annoying if I enter a folder with a lot of messages with really long subjects or senders. Ideally, maximizing the window would enlarge those columns proportionally so that I could see more information. As it stands, I have to manually resize them, and when I un-maximize the window they no longer fit in the display (see: "toobig.png") until I fix them again.
