Description Paul Magarey 2008-07-02 13:34:20 UTC
Version: Kontact Version 1.2.4 (enterprise 0.20070907.709405) (using KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

I started using Kubuntu 7.04 in about April 2008 and was delighted with
Kontact.  In particular I found it great for moving sent items from my
Fastmail account (IMAP) to the local folders maintained by Kontact.  I could
just drag and drop.  However, now when I try to do this, I crash contact
every time.  This is a big concern, as I want to keep my sent mail, but
Fastmail has a v.limited file storage capacity.

The error I get is as attached.  The backtrace is pasted below.  I'd be
delighted to receive a fix, but don't ask me to do anything too complicated
as I really am a newbie to linux.

My local folder's Sent Items is now showing 71.9 MB - I'm wondering if that's
too big and what the location is in case I want to store some of this
somewhere else.  I also want to back this file up, as I want to install
Kubuntu 8.04, but only have the live disk, not the alternative CD.

"no debugging symbols found" means that the backtrace is not useful. If you can reproduce the crash, you should install the debug enabled packages before providing again the backtrace. Read this page for the instructions:
