Version: 4.0.4 (using KDE 4.0.4) Installed from: SuSE RPMs Compiler: Standard openSUSE 11.0 rpms OS: Linux This is a rather annoying bug which occurs seemingly randomly, but frequently. (Frequently means I rarely go a day without seeing it.) The bug in question seems to start as a garbling of the launch bar. From there the problem (sometimes) spreads to the menu and/or the desktop. The garbling typically manifests as large areas turned black, but sometimes the original contents of the garbled area still shows, but with inversed colors (like a photo negative). Other times the garbled area just looks like random memory barfed onto the screen. I haven't been able to find any surefire way to reproduce the bug, but generally doing things that change something in the launch bar seems to trigger it. Starting OpenOffice seems cause it more frequently than other things, but that's not foolproof either.
