Comment 2 Peter Penz 2008-06-20 21:27:49 UTC
added Jos to CC, looks like a strigi related issue...
Comment 3 Ilya Konkov 2008-06-25 08:35:51 UTC
I have the same behavior. Slowdowns occurs on item highlighting with enabled Information Panel. If the panel is hidden everything works fast.
Strigi disabled. That's definitely Nepomuk related issue.
Comment 4 mic 2008-06-25 08:37:40 UTC
bug is and if and when off strigi. in konqueror everything is fine. Information panels with disabling all worked too quickly
Comment 5 Antonio C. 2008-06-26 19:15:44 UTC
dolphin is very slow (hang) with very large files (4,3 GB Opensuse_11.0.iso)
Comment 6 Peter Penz 2008-06-26 19:29:24 UTC
Thanks for the updates. Comment #3 makes clear that it is a strigi issue. This is the case even when strigi has been turned off: When turning off strigi only the indexing is turned off, strigi is still used for getting the meta data of files. I've reassigned this issue to Jos, it might be related to bug #163050.

@mic: Which trunk version did you use? Maybe bug #163050 (which is already solved) solves this issue too...

Comment 10 Mathieu Tournier 2008-07-01 17:13:09 UTC
dolphin, with the panel named "Information (F11)" displayed, is very slow (1,2 minutes) when you overfly or select big files (>800mb)
Comment 11 Jos van den Oever 2008-07-03 21:04:10 UTC
Please report which version of strigi you are using and for what type of files these errors occur. I'd also appreciate if you could run kfile4 on the files that slow down the viewing.

This issue depends on the file type that is in the information bar and I'd like to know for which file types we still need fixes.
