Version: (using Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources OS: Linux When multiple tasks are opened taskbar doesn't show them in multiple rows but it just squeezes them in one row so it looks very ugly, plus you can't read name of the application in taskbar.
Same here in a nightly build. Was working fine in 4.0.5
Same here.
Number of rows should be configurable, to prevent taskbar being too "smart" (the way user does not want to).
Agree with Maciej, it ought to be configurable.

maybe this could be useful: http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/multirows+task+manager+by+8siem?content=83177
Hmmm, maybe it should be backported and released with 4.1.1 as an alternative task bar...

A working backport of the multiple row taskbar for kde 4.1 can be found here: http://www.kolumbus.fi/kare.sars/KDE/tasks2.tar.gz Got it from the comments on kde-look.org and its made available by the user sars
Yes I think this would be really helpful.
I can confirm this is also occurring on kde4.2.0 on fedora10, still
With latest updates from openSUSE KDE factory repos and Qt 4.5 in particular, I now get two rows of icons in the taskbar. Seems to have been fixed with Qt 4.5.
