Description Pander Musubi 2008-04-05 17:59:59 UTC
Version: 1.4.8 (using KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

Amarok allows submitting of played songs to last.fm. At the moment this functionality can be enabled or disabled as a whole. However, sometimes it is desirable that a certain song is not submitted to last.fm but other songs are.

Reasons for nog wanting songs being submitted to last.fm can vary from:
- incomplete or incorrect ID3 tags (which will be fixed later but are not suited for last.fm statistics at the moment)
- personal work that is not to be communicated to the outside world (yet)
- (long live set) songs that are too specific (according to the user) and for which it is desirable that they are not included in personal last.fm statistics
- etc.

In the current situation the user has to toggle the last.fm submitting setting and/or can delete submitted songs at last.fm. More efficiently would be to add meta data to a song, in a very similar way as rating, which indicated if a particular song should be excluded from being submitted to last.fm

Please expand meta data and corresponding functionality, like rating, for a song with a boolean setting which excludes a song from begin submitted to last.fm. By default this setting is false and is visualised with a last.fm icon in both a new last.fm colunm in the playlist as in the statistics tab in the track information dialogue. When this boolean value is set to true, the song will not be submitted to last.fm and the icon will change to a greyed out version of the previously mentioned last.fm icon.

Implementing this feature will reduce enabling/disabling last.fm submitting and/or editing of the submitted songs at last.fm because the few songs that have to be excluded from begin submitted to last.fm can be managed via this 'exclude from last.fm' setting per song.
