Version: (using KDE 3.5.8) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages Reported in Debian BTS at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=456284 I select the last (lowermost) message in the message list pane and press F5 to check the IMAP account for updates. Then the message list goes hyperactive: First new messages are added (to the bottom of the list in my case) causing the previous entries to scroll up. Then the new messages are temporarily removed, and the list scrolls back. Finally the new messages are re-added. The resulting flashing, scrolling and updating is very irritating. This happens even if there are no new messages. In that case it scrolls back and forth a bit, and when it stops updating the current message is no longer the one I had selected but the previous one. Repeatedly pressing F5 with no new messages causes the selection to alternate between the last and next-to-last message. Clearly a mail check should be a no-op from the user's perspective if there are no changes. I tried turning off threaded view, but it happens regardless of that.
