Severity: critical
Compiler: gcc version egcs-2.91.66 19990314 (egcs-1.1.2 release)

At least it works very well for very many people. I guess you have a broken=
=20
installation. Probably a conflict with an old version of mimelib.

See http://www.kde.org/info/faq.html for other possible reasons.

Your bug report is also absolutely useless. A stack trace would be
helpful.
You seem to have compiled kmail from sources. Maybe you should update
your gcc. It's rather old.

I use a self compiled cvs version of kmail and have no problems with
crashes. My gcc version is 2.95.2 19991024 (which came with SuSE 6.4).

Regards
Ingo

Sounds interesting.

Comment 4 Leslie D. Dunn 2006-12-27 23:58:32 UTC
Below is the crash report stated to be sent to http://bugs.kde.org . I have coppied the report and included it below. This the first time it has happened. I will reboot to see if the system resets correctly.

I have just started my laptop to check my mail. I receive porn which I have set the filter to send the email directly to Trash. I normally check there is no important work emails and right click on the folder, select 'Empty Trash', then OK "Delete Trash" in the confirmation dialog box. This morning the Kontact has crashed on every occassion I have tried to delete the three (2 Porn Sites and one Scam) emails. It crashes and signal 11 (SIGSEGV).

If rebooting does not clear the issue, I will contact you again.

Les Dunn

PS:- I am very happy with the programs in KDE. I use them with Firefox & StarOffice 7. This is basically a work only computer. Well Done.

(Hope everyone has had a Verry Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to ALL.)

Comment 5 michael 2007-04-11 20:03:26 UTC
Just upgrade to Etch, and not sure if this is related to the same bug, but this one is listed as critical.. I cannot get Kmail to run/open, crashes on first load. I do use IMAP folders, but I am not sure how to move forward on reporting this..
