While amarok supports the rio karma as far as transferring music, it does not yet support karma playlists.

This is a patch sent to me by Andy Kelk for playlist support for amarok 1.4.5.
Since there is now a SOC project for media players, I hope this might get
applied. Thanks

Amarok 1.4.5 is very old. Your patch would have to be against current svn.
Amarok 1.4.x is in feature freeze so this is unlikely to go in there anyway.
I will forward it to the SoC student who will work on this however to see if it is useful for him.

Since amarok2 does not support the rio karma still, yep.
