Description jeremie.bryon 2007-08-18 20:09:37 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.6)
Installed from: Mandriva RPMs
OS: Linux

The crash message :
"The KWD (KDE-Window-Decorator) crash and launch 11 signal (SIGSEGV)."

It appears when I close a session and reopen a new session. So the crash appears : all windows on my desktop haven't got the traditional buttons "close, enlarge, minimize, ...". All windows aren't resizable after the crash... I can't close any window.

The bug appears when I restart a session, but not the first time when I start my computer (when the auto-log is activated and launch the session automatically).

I'm on Mandriva One Spring 2007 and I have the 3D effect activated.

Thanks.

We need more info, like a backtrace which you can generate from the crash dialog. Please read http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports

If you have Metisse or Compiz running, the KDE windo decorator (kwin) is disabled, and what you see (KWD) is a compiz application. Has nothing to do with KDE, unfortunately, thus you have to file your bug somewhere else...
