Description jstalnak 2007-05-02 17:28:43 UTC
Version: 1.9.6 (using KDE KDE 3.5.6)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

I'm using Kubuntu 7.0.4 (latest stable release).

I left my office yesterday afternoon to return this morning to a crashed Kontact. The handler indicated the issue was likelyl kmail. I started kmail separately and it loaded fine. But attempting to read mail it behaved strangely. After downloading the headers from my imap host, it would successfully show the contents of only new mail. For any mail from before this morning kmail showed either the header only or nothing. Repeated clicks on one of these older messages resulted in this crash handler report. NOTE: I have had problems using Kmail from within Kontact as well (as I said above); the observed behavior is random crashes (though not many). I prefer Kmail separate from Kontact (where I work we have our own calendar system so I can't really use Kontact's PIM feature), but Kmail separate appears to have issues with ldap (I cannot get autocomplete to work for an ldap 'addressbook' at all unless I start Kmail from within Kontact).

Kmail - the KDE Crash Handler

The application KMail (kmail) crashed and caused the signal 6 (SIGABRT).

Sorry -- I forgot to add that I have Bogofilter spam filtering installed as well, and I suppose it's possible that this is related to the crashes.
