Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5) Installed from: SuSE RPMs OS: Linux Hi there, Thanks for great work in KDE development. I've had a problem with keyboard layout switching in KDE since 3.4 when Started using kde: It did not understand alt-shift as a standalone keyboard key combination, it waits for another key to be pressed with them (e.g. alt-shift-K), this will result in being unable to assign ALT-SHIFT for layout switch, in Kcontrol. in KDE 3.5.5 (OpenSUSE 10.2) when you press alt-shift and keep it for a while it will interpret it as alt-ISO-LAYOUT-NEXT or ALT-ISO-LAYOUT-PREVIOUS (or something like) which I don't know whether it is correct translation of key combination or not, BUT STILL IT DOES NOT WORK EITHER! finally, as other older versions I set short cut to CTRL-MENU, but I really like it to be ALT-SHIFT. thank you :)
This is intentional as it is considered to be a poor shortcut. consider this, what happens when you have a shortcut like alt+shift+a ? If you type in alt+shift and then change your mind suddenly your keyboard changes. you may or may not realize it, lets say you don't and go to do another shortcut that ends up doing something completely different from what you meant, (unlikely but for the sake of an example) you wanted to save, but instead you do close without save.
