Description Maciej Pilichowski 2007-01-31 12:41:38 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

I downloaded some mail today and when KMail was opened my whole system crashed. When I run KMail again I have message (downloaded today), 2007-01-31 which is older (for KMail) than mail from 2005 (year).

I have read:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54839

and those mentioned " It may happen that a message is given a new serial number under certain
 circumstances" happened :-(

Please take a look at the internals because it seems it is very fragile mechanism -- it the system/KMail crashes the information is lost (it looks that way). Now, I don't know how to set the correct mail order.

Still an issue in recent kmail?
Comment 2 Maciej Pilichowski 2010-01-03 08:38:32 UTC
From user POV it is hard to tell, especially because I only test new KDE, I don't use it. Maybe let's close it is as worksforme if it didn't happen for you, and I will reopen it again, if the issue occurs again?
