Description kde 2006-12-01 08:51:47 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

I am using an UMTS/GPRS card to connect to the internet. While traveling, my Internet connection goes off and on regularily. KMail notifies me then, that it cannot find my (disconnected-)IMAP server, which gets annoying.

I would like to be able to switch off these notifications.

You can use the offline mode in the File menu.
Comment 2 kde 2007-03-26 20:17:27 UTC
This option does not work as intended for two reasons:

1. I want to disable the notification not the checking for new email. Going offline disables downloading, not the notification.

2. Going into offline modes just changes the notification from "host not found" to "you are offline do you want to go online" every time KMail wants to check for mail which is every 10 minutes.

So once again, I'd like to have a button "try do download new mail and don't bother me with any popups if anything goes wrong".
