Description karl sebastian liebich 2006-10-31 21:52:40 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

I added a few panels and kasbar by right-clicking on standart-panel. In the the "configure"-Dialogue (available via right-clicking on panel) the new added panels are not shown in "Settings for:"-PullDown. Changes are not overtaken to this field till restart.

Comment 2 karl sebastian liebich 2006-11-23 16:20:40 UTC
after reinstall, the error occurs again. Only the last added panel is shown in the dialogue.

ubuntu is edgy32-bit.
Comment 3 karl sebastian liebich 2006-11-23 16:21:31 UTC
sorry: edit: only the first added panel is shown.
Comment 4 karl sebastian liebich 2006-11-23 17:18:11 UTC
...after adding a panel and removing it, the entry in settings-dialogue still remains...

I can confirm this behaviour -- added panels are ignored. You have to restart computer to make them work.

I've encountered the same bug... however I've found that you don't have to restart to configure it.

Right Clicking and selecting Configure Panel won't show the new panel in the Settings For:dropdown. However if you navigate to the same configure module via Settings -> Control Center -> Desktop -> Panels, then the dropdown selector will reflect the new panel.

However the Right Click method won't work until after logging out and back in.

Kicker is no more mantained and developed. All kcontrol related bugs to the old KDE 3 panel has been closed. Bugs and valid wishes applicable to KDE 4 has been added to a list.

Regards.
