Description richlv 2006-04-25 14:24:51 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.2)
Installed from: Slackware Packages
OS: Linux

this might be a problem with klipper or some of underlying components - if so i'm sorry and ask to either reaasign it or tell me where to file the report.

i have set up a shortcut shift+ctrl+c to copy. if i am copying selection by using edit->copy menu entry, it is copied and shows up in klipper menu. if i am doing this with keyboard shortcut, i can paste the data, but it does not show up in klipper menu.

this obviously is with "ignore selection" for klipper enabled.

It works for me. I tried using 'shift+ctrl+c' and F9 as shortcuts for Copy. It shows up in the klipper menu.
Do you have 'Enable actions' set? What are your other configure settings?
Comment 2 richlv 2006-05-02 12:17:59 UTC
"enable actions" was disabled. enabling it didn't change anything.

which configuration parameters are relevant ? klipper/konsole ?
in klipper, i have 'prevent empty clipboard' and 'ignore selection' enabled.

cliboard/selection behaviour is set to synchronize them.

changing both of these settings (except 'ignore selection', of course) didn't change anything.

I have the same options... don't know, you are using the latest KDE... I wonder if Slackware does anything different to KDE...
Comment 4 richlv 2006-10-05 10:27:45 UTC
a fresh install of slackare 11.0, kde 3.5.4.
klipper has "ignore selection" & "synchronize contents..." enabled.

a completely clean user account, ctrl+shift+c defined as 'copy' action.

whenever something is copied from konsole with menu entry, it appears in klipper history. when the same is done with the keyboard shortcut, no entry is added to klipper history.

is visibly lighter, but not greyscaled.

still reproducible with 3.5.7.
maybe i should attach my klipper configuration files ?

Have you tried a recent KDE 4 release? KDE3 is not maintained. Re-open if you are still having issues.
Comment 10 richlv 2011-03-14 21:40:34 UTC
have to reopen. i upgraded on one system to kde 4.3 first and to 4.6 now. i still get the same problem.

the only thing i change from default is to ignore selection in klipper - and anything copied from konsole with ctrl+shift+c does not show up in the klipper history at all (but can be pasted normally).

I can reproduce this in KDE-4.7.0, kind of.

When the shortcut is set as 'Ctrl+Shift+C'(the default), the copied text will not appear in the menu of klipper, but still usable.

When the shortcut is set as, say, 'Alt+C', it will work well.

So maybe the problem is konsole() does handle shortcut containing 2 modifiers very well?
Comment 12 Jekyll Wu 2011-08-03 21:09:08 UTC
It seems this problem is not specific to konsole. I set the shortcut of 'copy' to 'Ctrl+Shit+C' in kate and konqueror, then they both had the same problem.

So is this problem caused by kdelibs ?

at least i think so ...
