Description Mario Hein 2006-04-18 09:24:43 UTC
Version: 0.8.1 (using KDE KDE 3.4.3)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages

There are usually three kinds of pictures:

- Pictures with date tags in EXIF information
- Pictures with EXIF infomations, but no date tags (not set by camera --> set to 00/00/0000 00:00 for example)
- Pictures wihout EXIF informations

The first type will be the most common. But what to do for the other types?
Currently, the Pictures will be sorted by creation time stamp of the file. (And so they get mixed-up with other pictures with correct date tags in EXIF infos)
But in my opinion, they should be shown under an extra folder in the calender view named 'without date information' or so.... and there you could sort them by date, name,...

There is also a wish to add EXIF date tags in the wishlist. Could be a good combination...

Best regards,

Mario

I agree, these files are not logically "dateable", so they should be disregarded by the date sort order.

0.9.4 will be the fine release to review Date Search Tool.

Note: A new TimeLine is under construction:

Hi! I think being able to sort in as many different ways as possible gives you a lot of additional control over your collection. Are there any plans to implement this?
