Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.1) Installed from: Compiled From Sources Compiler: gcc 4.0.2 Configured with: ../gcc-4.0.2/configure --prefix=/usr --mandir=/usr/share/man --infodir=/usr/share/info --enable-shared --enable-threads=posix --disable-checking --enable-long-long --enable-__cxa_atexit --enable-clocale=gnu --disable-libunwind-exceptions OS: Linux In kde 3.5.1 (probably 3.5.0 as well), the screensaver won't activate automatically if "Enable display power management" is unchecked. This is a slight twist to the power management/screensaver interactions in previous versions so I think it's a unique bug entry. I can manually select lock which locks the screen, but the advanced option of locking with the cursor in a corner doesn't work, and the time based screensaver (normal setting) doesn't work either.
I can confirm that with KDE 3.5.2. Indeed, checking "Enable display power management" makes it work again.
I was trying the workaround of enabling display power management and set the sliders to: Standby after: 1 min Suspend after: 2 min Power off after: 3 min just to see what happened. I blanked after 1 min but I have the Slideshow screen saver selected to start at 1 min. So I tried setting the power management to 10, 20, 30 min respectively and Slideshow didn't start after 1 min.
I seem to be ok now. With the 3.5.3-2 updates and logging out and restarting X and logging in and having power management set and everything disabled in it I get the saver to work.
Nope still got it. Doesn't start with power management off.
Is this #128610?
