Description Marcin Orlowski 2006-01-05 10:25:42 UTC
Version: 1.9.1 (using KDE 3.5.0, Kubuntu Package 4:3.5.0-0ubuntu3 dapper)
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.15-10-386

It seems that IMAP filters always fetch the whole message to match agains the filter rules, even there's no rule that matches against basic fields (like FROM: TO: SUBJECT:) which are already known to kmail (and do not require to fetch anything but mail headers). This makes kmail crawl while applying filters and takes age for persons receiving lot of mails, getting big mails or simply being on slow connection. Mozilla mailer is still ahead here ;(

Please be aware that for certain filter actions it's needed to download the complete message (even if the filter rule would need only the headers). Anyway, please be more specific about your filter setup to allow us to check the behavior of KMail.

I have the same problem as the reporter. Bug #125084 seems to have a little more "action" than this bug though.

The old title was quite useless too, so I've retitled it... ;-)
